Pininkie – How To’s 2018-03-08T20:27:37+00:00
Hello!

Purchased a Pininkie digital supply via Etsy and are unsure what to do with it? Find the help you need here . . .

Often, Pininkie digital product files (JPG’s PNG’s etc.) will be compressed in a zip file to make downloading easier.

To unzip your file, first, make sure you are on a Windows PC or Mac rather than a mobile device.

Unzipping on a Windows PC

On a Windows PC, to unzip a file, right-click the file and select ’Extract All’. This should bring up the ’Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction Wizard’. To extract the file or files, select a directory or folder where the wizard can send the files and click “Extract”.

On a MAC, simply double click the zip file to un-zip it.

Sometimes you may want your 12×12 inch digital paper to be a smaller size, such as Letter, A4 or smaller standard photograph sizes. I’m going to show you how to resize a 12×12 inch digital paper using two different image editors – Paint.NET and GIMP. Both are free and available to download from the web.

These instructions will be pretty much the same for other image editing software, such as Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.

Resizing with Paint.NET

STEP 1:

Go to “File->Open” and browse to the digital paper you wish to resize. Select it and click “Open”.

STEP 2:

Go to “Image->Canvas Size”.

STEP 3:

Set the “Print size” to you preferred size. This would be 8.5 x 11 inches for Letter size and 11.7 x 8.3 inches for A4. However, you can change to any size you wish as long as it is the same or less than the original size of 12 x 12 inches.

Set the “Anchor” to middle. Click on “OK”.

STEP 4:

You now have your resized digital paper. Remember to save it as a different file name, so you don’t overwrite your original 12 x 12 inch file.

Resizing with GIMP

STEP 1:

Go to “File->Open” and browse to the digital paper you wish to resize. Select it and click “Open”.

STEP 2:

Go to “Image->Canvas Size”.

STEP 3:

Set the “Canvas Size” to you preferred size. This would be 8.5 x 11 inches for Letter size and 11.7 x 8.3 inches for A4. However, you can change to any size you wish as long as it is the same or less than the original size of 12 x 12 inches.

Either click on “Centre” to centre the paper on your new canvas size, or move the paper around to where you want it in the “Offset” image field.

Click on “Resize”.

STEP 4:

You now have your resized digital paper. Remember to export it as a different file name, so you don’t overwrite your original 12 x 12 inch file.
